William L. Robinette

William L. "Bill" Robinette, age 86 of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
  
He was born on July 9, 1937, to the late Luther and Edith (Bell) Robinette in Scott County, Virginia. Bill worked for several years at Dinner Bell Foods in Defiance until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife, going out to eat, and walking at Walmart and Menards. He loved the outdoors and mowing the grass. His family was very important and he loved making trips down south to visit.
  
Bill is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Margie Yates of Defiance, his daughter, Janie Robinette, brothers Johnny and Danny Robinette, and his sister, Shirley Massie. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and Fred Robinette, and sisters Mary Hall and Elaine Page.
  
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the funeral home.  Bill will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
  
Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center.
