Margaret "Peggy" A. (Plummer) Ramey

Margaret  A. "Peggy" Ramey, age 77 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.   
  
She was born on March 19, 1946 to the late Paul and Margrate (Boday) Plummer in Defiance, Ohio. Margaret was married for 20 years to Jerry Ramey, who preceded her in death. 
  
Margaret was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Defiance Eagles #372. She had a passion for sewing and owned and operated the Defiance Sewing Center for several years. Spending time with her family was always her priority and she loved being with her grandchildren. Margaret was an avid reader, she loved gardening, her flower beds, and she bowled in multiple bowling leagues in the area, earning her status in the Defiance Women's 500 Club. Margaret will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
  
Margaret is survived by her children, Tammy (Michael) Hoffman, Bonnie Dorsey, and Jeff (Angie) Goldenetz, all of Defiance, Fran Ramey of Red Bay, AL, Coleen (Shaun) Fulk of Stryker, OH, and Debra (James) Newcomb of Clifton, TN, 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, her brother, Carey (Brenda) Plummer of Napoleon, OH, and her sister, Nancy Oberhaus of West Unity, OH.  
  
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, George, Tom, Ray and Larry, and grandson Gage. 
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating. One hour of visitation will be held before the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
