Kerrie Ann (Dodson) Tressler

Kerrie Ann Tressler, age 50 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. 
 
She was born on April 14, 1973 to Kay (Glass) and Donald "Donnie" Dodson Jr. in Paulding, Ohio. On September 28, 2011 she married Brian Tressler, who survives. Kerrie worked for several years as a Home Health Aide. She treasured her time spent with her family. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and flowers. She loved hummingbirds and animals, especially her ducks.  Kerrie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
  
Kerrie is survived by her husband of twelve years, Brian Tressler of Defiance, her mother, Kay Ann (Fred) McBroom of Defiance, and her children, Kayla (Johnathon) Prowant of Cloverdale, OH, Robert Deitrick of Bluffton, OH, Kolton Tressler of Defiance, and stepsons, Jason Tressler and Lance Phillips, both of Castlewood, VA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, her brother, Kelly Dodson of Defiance, sister Alicia (Shane) Bishop of Continental, OH, brothers-in-law, Tom Mayes of Van Wert, OH and Jeff Tressler of Hanesport, NJ, and her sister-in-law, Sherri Tackett of Archbold, OH. 
  
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Dodson, Jr., father-in-law, Dale Tressler, and her sister, Tina Mayes. 
  
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the funeral home, with Pastor Pat Holt officiating.
  
Memorials are suggested to ALS Association at Parkview in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
