Constance J. Stone

Constance "Connie" J. Stone, age 72 of Bryan, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at the Bryan Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  
  
She was born on April 13, 1951 to the late Donald and Mary Ann (Froelich) Wells in Defiance, Ohio. Connie was a 1969 graduate of Defiance High School and worked as a switchboard operator for United Telephone Company. 

Connie was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She received the Religious Student of the Year in the 8th grade at St. John's Catholic School. She loved music and collected 45 record singles. Connie was an avid reader and 4-H member. She enjoyed roller skating, dancing, sewing, crocheting, and loved to bake cookies for her family. 
  
Connie is survived by her son, D.J. (Amber) Stone of Garrett, IN, her brothers, Tom (Carol ) Wells of Saginaw, MI and Dan (Carolyn) Wells of Tremonton, UT, her sisters, Karen Wells of Albuquerque, NM and Marilyn Brown of Defiance, and three grandchildren; Victoria, Morgan, and Donovan Stone, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Barbara Meek and Carolyn Bennett-Cantley.
  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Connie will be laid to rest at Riverview Memory Gardens.
