Celia Ovalle

In the grace of our Lord, we bid farewell to Celia Ovalle, nee Montemayor, who was called to the Lord's embrace on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in Defiance, Ohio. Celia, age 92, lived a life marked by humility, a profound respect for all God's creation, and an unwavering commitment to her faith.

Celia is lovingly survived by her son, Ed (Veronica) Ovalle Jr., and her daughters, Juanita (Rick) Eldridge, Sofia (Dan) Delgado, and Anita (Luis) Garcia. Her legacy continues through her beloved brother Reynaldo Montemayor, her cherished 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter, each a testament to her life's devotion.

She now joins in Heaven her late husband Eduardo Ovalle Sr., her two sons Armondo and Raul Ovalle, her parents Yldifonso and Juanita Montemayor, and her siblings Isidoro Montemayor, Elvida Gutierrez, Lenore Reyna, Porfidio Montemayor, Benito Montemayor, Beatriz Martinez, Margarita Hernandez, Benjamin Montemayor and Felipe Montemayor, who preceded her in the journey to eternal peace. 

As we honor Celia's virtuous life, a service of remembrance will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 306 S D Salinas Blvd., Donna, TX 78537. Here, in the house of God, we shall express our gratitude for the blessing that was her presence among us and offer prayers as she is received into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Celia's life was a reflection of the Beatitudes; her spirit of meekness and mercy shone brightly, touching the lives of all who knew her. In her memory, may we continue to cultivate the seeds of love and kindness she planted in the garden of this world.

The family graciously requests privacy during this time of mourning as they find solace in the faith that their beloved Celia now rests in the arms of the Almighty.
