Bonnie Fern Kaemming, 90, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Glenn Park in Defiance, Ohio.
She was born on June 16, 1933 and was raised by her adoptive parents, Emory and Ruby (Fausnaugh) Fox of Gibsonburg, Ohio. On November 24, 1953 she married Lee Kaemming who preceded her in death in 2012.
Bonnie graduated from Pemberville High School in 1951. She was a homemaker and worked for various businesses including Good Samaritan School, Defiance County Senior Center, and Derrow Motor Sales. She was a great cook and was famous for her "Grandma Bunnies Cookies" enjoyed by friends and family.
She was a faithful member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, rural Defiance County, where she served on the council, and Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville, Ohio. She was a member of the Jewell Legion Auxiliary, Woodville Legion Auxiliary, Jewell Fire Department, and she served many years as an election poll worker. Bonnie always had a smile to share and will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
Bonnie is survived by her loving children, Sandy (Jack) Locy, Laurie (Mike) McCann, and Mark (Mary) Kaemming, all of Defiance. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, with another expected this Spring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Kaemming, one sister, and two great-grandsons.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, with Deacon Amanda Carpenter officiating. One hour of additional visitation will be held before the service at the church. Bonnie will be laid to rest at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer's Association, Defiance Area Foundation, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
