Betty M. (Sanderson) Dunlap

Betty M. Dunlap age 96 of Defiance, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Trustwell Kingsbury Place.     
  
She was born on November 6, 1927 to the late John and Ethel (Edwards) Sanderson in Paulding County, Ohio. On December 2, 1943 she married Calvin Dunlap, who preceded her in death on October 6, 2000. 
  
Betty was a faithful member of Defiance Christian Church. She was an avid musician and was an accomplished organist, pianist, and she played the accordion. She loved her time spent playing for Sunday Worship Services at several area churches, and in the band  "Country Charmers". She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family, and she faithfully prayed for each one.
  
Betty is survived by her daughters, Anna Marie Huebner of Sherwood, OH and Alicia (John) Mengerink of Defiance, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.  
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Calvin, brothers, Clyde, Harold, Kenneth, John, Paul and Furl Sanderson, her sister Pearl Winters, granddaughter Charlene Huebner, and great-granddaughter Henley Mengerink.
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Defiance Christian Church in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 11:00 am at the church, with Hal DeTray officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at Ayersville Cemetery.
