Benjamin "Ben" Rodriguez, Jr.

Benjamin "Ben" Rodriguez Jr., age 53 of Defiance, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.   
  
He was born on August 31, 1970 to Benjamin and Virginia (Rosado) Rodriguez in Chicago, IL. Ben was a 1989 graduate of Defiance High School. On August 11, 2007 he married Leah Cripe, who survives. He worked for over 40 years at Dilly Door in Defiance. He enjoyed playing softball, going to the lake, watching his children play sports, and attending their school events. Ben loved spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends. 
  
Ben is survived by his loving wife Leah of Defiance, his parents, Benjamin Rodriguez, Sr. and Virginia (Heriberto) Rodriguez of Defiance, three daughters, Kayla (Mac) Hartford of Sylvania, OH, Kaytlynn Thornton of Westland, MI, and Ariel (Brayden Auch) Brown of Napoleon, OH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Mackenna Hartford of Sylvania, OH and Lyla Auch of Napoleon, OH, and his siblings, Migdalia (Juan) Gonzalez of Houston, TX, Milagros (Orlando) Perez, and Abigail (Alicia) Rodriguez, all of Defiance, and several nieces and nephews. 
  
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 2:00 m to 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the funeral home, with Rev. Terry Cripe officiating. 
    
Memorials are suggested to Defiance City Schools-Angel Fund, or Christ Our Savior Church.
