Ana Marie (Alvarado) Hernandez

Ana Marie Hernandez, age 76 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.   
  
She was born on March 2, 1948 to the late Jose and Ernestine (Ochoa) Alvarado in California. She was married to Jose Hernandez, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2013. 
  
Ana was a member of Family Christian Center and Eagles #372 in Defiance. She worked for several years at Johns Manville. She enjoyed playing pool and was a huge football fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys. Ana was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and treasured her time spent with her family.
  
Ana is survived by her children, Joe (Linda Lou) Hernandez, III of Lima, OH, Teresa Hernandez of Morenci, MI, Mark (Tammy) Hernandez of Defiance, and Jamie Hernandez of Defiance, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Jeanne Montgomery, Patty Carty, Juliana Lepper, Junior, Julian, Steve, Tim, Teresa, Sam and Rudy Alvarado, Diane De La Cruz, Corina Cadena, Melinda, Leticia, Joey and Javier Soliz, Emma Epperson, and Jaime Quintanilla.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose Hernandez, son, Nick Hernandez, daughter, Mary Ann Hernandez, and brothers, Daniel and Gary Alvarado.
  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Believer's Church International in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the church, with Pastor Peter Flores officiating. Ana will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
