Victor William Keller, 91, of Defiance, passed away on  June 12, 2016 in Toledo, OH.  
  
He was born on April 3, 1925 to Philip and Eva (Lichtenwald) Keller in Wauseon, OH.  Victor was a 1943 graduate of Wauseon High School, where he was a three sport letterman, and was chosen All Ohio honorable mention for center in basketball. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and Future Farmers of America. In 2007, he was inducted into the Wauseon High School Hall of Fame. After high school, Victor served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps, during WWII. He enlisted in 1944 and served in the South Pacific theater in the Philippines. 

On April 18, 1948, Victor married Wanda Johnston who preceded him in death in 2010. 

Victor worked at General Motors for 36 years and was hired in the first year the Defiance plant opened. He retired in 1985. He was an active member at St. John Lutheran Church in Defiance, Ohio and an avid member of the German American Genealogy Club. He enjoyed gardening, raising grapes in his vineyard, crafting jams, jellies, and baking pies for family and friends. He also built bird houses and placed them in the woods at Independence Dam where he spent a lot of time enjoying the great outdoors. He lived the Golden Rule and truly loved serving others. 
  
Victor is survived by his sons Stephen Keller of Scottsdale, AZ, Gregory (Maria) Keller of Scottsdale, AZ, and Kevin Keller of Defiance, OH, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Wanda Keller, a sister, Ruth in childhood, brothers Donald and Philip James Keller, and grandson, Jecoa Keller.
  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.
     
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Donald L Luhring, officiating.
  
Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens where Military Honors will be accorded by VFW Post 3360.
