Vera M. (Hahn) Breckler
June 29, 1927 ~ October 18, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years OldVera M. Breckler, 90, of Mark Center, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on June 29, 1927 to Elmer and Lesta (Neiswander) Hahn in Lenawee County, Michigan. On August 16, 1945 she married Robert I. Breckler, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1995.
She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, and was an active member of the Altar Rosary Society. Vera enjoyed writing poetry, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Vera is survived by her six sons, Robert (LeAnne) Breckler of Defiance, Larry (Pamela) Breckler of Defiance, Daniel (Lillian) Breckler of Edgerton, John (Rebecca) Breckler of Sherwood, James (Amy) Breckler of Avilla, IN, and Michael Breckler of Mark Center, OH, eight daughters, Phyllis Betz of Mark Center, Margaret Hastings of Defiance, Christine (Joel) Ingle of Mason, MI, Angela (Scott) Prall of Madison, AL, Elizabeth Berry of Bryan, Mary DeVeau of Columbus, OH, Marilyn (Paul) Doctor of Woodburn, IN, and Patricia (William) Uhlenhake of Sterrett, AL, 93 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, brothers Elmer (Mary) Hahn of Edgerton and Nelson Hahn of Defiance.
In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Breckler,sisters Mary Lloyd and Avyinelle Lloyd, brothers George and Howard Hahn, grandchildren, Angela Kay Betz, Andrew Breckler, and Christopher DeVeau, son-in-law Delmar Betz, and sisters-in-law Reba Hahn, Barb Hahn, and Lucille Hahn.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 2:00 pm. A Mass to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 23rd at Saint Isidore Catholic Church, 16428 Speaker Road in Sherwood, with Fr. Robert Kill officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Stephen's Catholic Cemetery.
