Teresa L. Bok, 60, of Defiance, passed away surrounded by family, on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.  
  
She was born on December 1, 1956, to H. Gene and Joyce (Glick) Bok in Defiance. Teresa earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Defiance College. She taught music at Hicksville Exempted Village Schools, and was a tutor at Central Local. 
  
Teresa was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, and was a volunteer and board member for the Food Pantry. She belonged to Delta Kappa Gamma, Delta Zeta Chapter for Key Women Educators, President of Sherwood Area Professional Women, and the Ohio Music Educators Association. Teresa was a former American Cancer Society Volunteer of the Year for Hicksville Relay or Life. 

Teresa loved teaching, and her hobbies included stamping, scrapbooking and crafts, crocheting, teaching piano, puppets, singing, playing guitar, family events, cooking, volunteering at the Food Pantry, and outdoor education. Teresa will be missed by so many that loved her. 
  
Teresa is survived by her mother, Joyce Bok of Sherwood, OH, brother, Michael Bok (Jane Garvin) of Sherwood, OH, sisters, Suzanne (Charles) Cox of Rossford, OH,  Paula (Doug) DeCola of Ney, OH, and Barbara Burger of Kettering, OH, nieces and nephews; Andrea Taylor of Cleveland, OH, Bruce Bok of Convoy, OH, Kevin Cox of San Mateo, CA, Daniel Cox of Clyde, OH,  Elise DeCola of Vallejo, CA, Erica DeCola of Defiance, OH, Grace and Ben Burger of Kettering, OH, and great-nieces;  Lily, Dana, and Ivy Bok of Convoy, OH. 
  
She was preceded in death by her father, H. Gene Bok.
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 2:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am  on Monday, January 30, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
