Robert L. "Buzz" Lantow, 80, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Twin Rivers Care and Rehabilitation Center in Defiance surrounded by his family.   
  
He was born on September 16, 1937 to Edgar and Leona (Speaker) Lantow in Defiance. On September 13, 1960 he married Sandy (Burmeister) Lantow, who resides in Defiance. Robert served our country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1966. He was a driver for 30 years for UPS from 1962 until his retirement in 1992.  

Robert was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a member of AMVETS, VFW #3360, and was a lifetime member of Elks #147. He was a big fan of Michigan sports, and he enjoyed bowling and playing pool. Buzz had many friends, and he never met a stranger.
  
Robert will be sadly missed by his loving spouse of  57 years, Sandy Lantow, daughter, Tammy (Paul) Pixler of Defiance, son, Scott Lantow of Bryan,  grandchildren, Valerie (Ryan) McFeeters, Tony (Waseela) Krall, Chad Lantow, Justin Lantow, Kaitlin (Kurt Iler) Kuyers, great-grandchildren, Aiden McFeeters, Talia Krall, sister, Delores Hammon, and several nieces and nephews. 
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 2:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 25th at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery, with graveside military rites accorded by VFW #3360.
