Peggy Ann Higgins, 84, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at her residence in Defiance.

She was born on January 10, 1933 to Bevis F. and Odeal (Pollock) Snider in Brunersburg, Ohio. On June 23, 1951 she married James Higgins, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1998. Peggy was a partner and bookkeeper for Higgins Holiday 66 Service Station from 1968 to 1978. She worked for Dinner Bell Foods for 28 years.  She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and the Browns. Peggy enjoyed playing bingo, bird watching, and she loved her cats.

Peggy will be sadly missed by her sons, Randy (Sara) Higgins, David (Vickie) Higgins, and Kevin (Annette) Higgins, all of Defiance, daughter, Susan Stevenson  (Jim) Stoll of Delta, Ohio, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Higgins, and great-grandson, Colton Brubaker.
  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Timothy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evansport Cemetery.
