So sorry to see this in our Defiance College magazine. Lydia was the most organized person I have meet. She got more done in an hour then anyone I have ever known.
I remember her smile and laugh and how very happy she was in college when Harold came into her life. Her eyes would light up when she talked about Harold. Their dates started with going to church on Saturday nights-best way to keep a strong relationship growing! I am glad she was a teacher and touched so many lives. My prayers and hugs are with Harold and Cindy and Dan and her brothers and sister. I am so glad she had grandbabies to love!!! Please know she touched my heart so many years ago. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, thru the mercy of God, rest in peace. Dorm buddies from 1970 to 1972. Lyd made life interesting and fun! Karen May Malone

Your mom and wife was one of my dearest friends in junior high and at Troy High School. She was part of a small but wonderful group of girls who did things together, like camping out at John Bryan State Park and at Kiser Lake in Ohio. We also visited her at her home out in the country. Her dad was my science teacher in junior high and I respected him very much. What a sweet, kind, gentle person she was. So sorry she's gone so soon, just as I had become reacquainted with her at the 2015 Troy High Class of '70 reunion. Godspeed, Lydia, until we meet again by Jesus' side.

Lydia (Beth) I will miss you so much. We spent lots of time together growing up, We may have drifted apart over the miles, but we were always together in thoughts. Beth, you were not just my cousin, but my best friend. I have many, many fond memories of our younger days together, including the time you helped me sneak my first kitten home,.
Love and Hugs to Harold, Dan and Cindy.

It was a pleasure to know and work with Lydia during our many years at Fairview. I always enjoyed seeing the creative projects the kids did on the computer. Cheryl Buchhop

Lydia was a big part of my life growing up. I think I first met her in 4-H and was very close friends with Cindy! I feel like the many times I participated in events with Lydia, she really influenced me to be the best I could be no matter what it was that I was doing! At some point in school, I remember helping in the middle school computer lab where she taught. Being in the computer field today, I feel like this also steered me to where I am today. To Cindy and the family, I pass along my sincere condolences and will be praying for you in this difficult time! May God comfort you in the days to come!

I went to Troy High School with Lydia. I did not get to know her until a few yrs ago.
what a fun person. She was so easy to talk to. She was in a group of us girls that spent a few days in Va. in the fall. I am so glad she was with us. A great time for all. I regret I did not know she was sick.. I will forever want to give her a hug and tell her I love her. I'll see you in Glory.

I will miss seeing Lydia's posts on facebook. Lydia was a close friend in high school. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. In high school we used to camp at Kiser Lake in her parents camper. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly misses.

I always looked forward to talking with Lydia. I saw her twice a week most weeks. We shared serious times and laughs together. My favorite snack she would make was toothpicks threaded with cheese, pickles, and ham. So simple but very good. She was very generous. I have a knitted scarf, a cape, and a Christmas pin that we're all knitted by Lydia. She would often show us her latest find that she was selling on Beffie's Boutique. (I always bought my iPad covers from her.)☺️ She had talked to me for years about selling sechler's pickles so last year we arranged a "field trip" to the pickle factory for a group of school friends. It was really fun. (And the pickle fundraiser began).. Lydia was a loyal, wonderful friend and I will miss her a lot.. She left us way too soon!
