Luella M. Spencer, 87, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
  
She was born on January 12, 1930 to Charles and Revella (Osborn) Geren in Defiance. She was married for 61 years to Warren E. Spencer, who preceded her in death in 2008.
  
Luella was an auxiliary member of VFW #3360, Moose Lodge #2094, and Eagles Post #372. She enjoyed reading, baking, bowling, and loved spending time with her grandkids.
   
Luella is survived by her son, Warren "Butch" (Margrett) Spencer of Defiance, daughters, Pat (Roger) Ray of Defiance, and Terry (Gary) Rosebrock of Ney, sisters, Violet Enslow of Paulding, and Mary Flory of Belleview, Florida, brother, Dick Metz of Bryan, 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Revella and Charles Geren, husband, Warren E. Spencer, and daughter, Mary Lou Spencer.
  
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on  Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, at the funeral home, with Pastor Judy Williams officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Ney Cemetery.
