Karon A. Farber, 66, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.  
  
She was born on July 17, 1949 to Wilbur and Dolores (Orzechowski) Mack in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Fairview High School in 1967, and received her degree in education from the University of St. Francis in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1971.  On May 9, 1970 she married Michael Farber.  
  
Karon was a member of St. Michael's Ridge Catholic Church in Defiance. She was a teacher for 30 years in the Northeastern Local School District. She was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, and Director of Religious Education. Karon was also a member of the Fountain City Corvette Club, Red Hat Society, Heavenly Homemakers, Best Friends 4-H Club advisor, and the University of St. Francis Alumni Association.
  
Karon will be greatly missed by her husband, Michael Farber of Defiance, daughters Catherine Farber, and Melissa (Steve) Billing of Defiance, sons Stephen (Jennifer) Farber of Cincinnati, and Wesley (Catherine) Farber of Waldorf, Maryland, 5 grandchildren, sisters Mary (Guy) Farmer of Tallahassee, Florida, Dorene (Jose) Rodriguez of Montverde, Florida, and brother, Chris Mack of Ney.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Wilbur Mack, and sister-in-law Gwen Mack.
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with a Rosary service at 2:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at St. Michael's Ridge Catholic Church, Defiance, with Father Robert Kill officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
