Justo Resendez II, 95, of Defiance passed away on July 16, 2016 at the Defiance CHP.

He was born on May 23, 1921 to Justo and Pioquinta (Martinez) Resendez in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. On June 11, 1944, he married Benita Salinas who preceded him in death on December 11, 2015. 
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio.  He came to Ohio as a migrant farmer and became employed by General Motors Powertrain where he worked for 32 years, retiring in 1982.  He and his family settled in Holgate, Ohio before moving to Defiance in 1976.
Justo is survived by his daughter, Guadelupe (Juan) Montolin of Chicago, IL, daughter Ludivina “Vina” (John) Flores of Maumee, OH, daughter Gloria Kouris of Chicago, IL, daughter Ofelia (Arturo) Granados of Crystal City, TX, daughter, Amanda (Tito) Carrasquillo Jr. of Defiance, daughter, Maria (David) Carrillo of Orange, CA, son Justo (Debby) Resendez III of West Chester, OH, son Adbento “Ben” (Barbara) Resendez of Holgate, OH, son Seryio “Steve” (Saundra) Resendez of Defiance, son, Homer (Renee) Resendez of Defiance, 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, sisters Hortencia, Briseida and Idalia, of Mexico brothers Mario, Horacio, Oscar, Ovidio, of Mexico and  Juventino and Leonso of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Oralia, brothers Raul and Rodolfo, grandsons Patrick Esparza and Jonathon Carrillo, and son-in-law Bryon Kouris.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016, 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio with Father John Stites officiating.
Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the Defiance CHP or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
