Judy F. Young, 67, of Defiance, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She fought the hard fight against Pancreatic Cancer, and then Liver Cancer.
  
She was born on November 22, 1949 to Robert Hale and Flora (Hall) Hale Gallant in Richlands, Virginia. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Gene Young of Defiance. They were married on April 29, 2003. They have been best friends since the mid 60's. Gene and Judy attended Restoration Church. She will be greatly missed by many family members and wonderful close friends, and her canine pals, Prince Charles and Blu Boyz.

At the age of 17, Judy started working at Frisch's Big Boy. In 1974 she began working at Johns Manville, and worked there for 31 years, retiring in 2005. Judy would like to say "Bless You" to all that have prayed steadily for her. She knows it helped get her through some tough times.
  
Judy is survived by her husband and best friend, Gene Young of Defiance, children, Rob (Sharla) Young of Montpelier, Cindy (Troy) Herendeen of Defiance,  Teresa (John) Mueller of Defiance, and Elizabeth Conley of  Sherwood, stepson, Stan Young of Georgia, She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, brother, Monty Hale of Bryan, brother, D. Allen Hale of Montpelier, and sister, Rita Marshall of Archbold. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lawrence Gallant, sisters, Linda Schmidt and Cheryl Ann Hale, brother, Terry Gene Hale, and a granddaughter, Angela Mueller.
  
Visitation will be held from 2-4, and 5-8 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 12th at Restoration Tabernacle Church in Defiance, with Rev. Janet Strickland officiating.
