John S. Davis, 79, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.  
  
He was born on September 15, 1936 to Pearl and Noma (Lantz) Davis in Sherwood, Ohio. He worked at Defiance Precision Products for 32 years, retiring in 1999.  John was a huge fan of Nascar, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Browns, and he enjoyed watching wrestling. John also loved to spend time working outside on the farm with friends.
  
John is survived by his niece, Peg (John) Johnson of Defiance, nephew, Michael (Alanea) Davis of Elmore, Ohio, great nephews, Joe (Taylor) Davis and Luke Davis, great nieces, Clare Davis, Chelsea Frankhouse, and Emma (Jeff) Johnson, and special friends, Bud & Phyllis Sanders.
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Noma Davis, brother, Jim Davis, and sister, Joann Davis.
  
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 9:30 am at Schaffer Funeral  Home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Cemetery.
