Jacob Allen Elders, 19, of Defiance, passed away on  July 23, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.   
  
He was born on October 22, 1997 to Lisa (Nixon) and Lowell Elders, Jr. in Defiance. He was a 2016 graduate of Defiance High School, and was a member of the baseball team.  Jacob was discharged from the U.S. Army. He was a model for the John Casablanca Modeling Agency, and modeling was his passion. He loved watching movies with his Dad, especially Star Wars movies, and he loved to dance and listen to music. Jacob was a gentle soul with a giant heart, he loved helping others, and his smile would light up a room. He enjoyed playing men's softball, and being with his family. He had many good friends, and he will be greatly missed by so many that loved him. 
  
Jacob is  survived by his parents, Lisa and Lowell Elders, Jr., sister, Ashley Elders (Christopher Butler), niece, Brooklyn Butler, and grandparents,  Roberta and Lowell Elders, Sr., all of Defiance.  
  
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Violet and Richard Nixon. 
  
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Janet Strickland officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
