 Glennis Eugene "Bud" Horsey, 94, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at The Laurels in Defiance, in the presence of his family.
  
He was born in Defiance on November 23, 1921 to Ernest and Florence (Speiser) Horsey. He married Velma Fay (Plumb) Horsey on December 23, 1941. He was a Veteran of WWII as a member of the U.S. Army in the 99th Infantry Division, fought in the the Battle of the Bulge, and was awarded numerous citations including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and a Presidential Unit Citation. Upon returning home, he worked for Zeller Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Defiance Christian Church and a life member of  the VFW. He enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Michigan, time with his family, and growing flowers.

  
He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Richard) Wagner, grandchildren Amy (Chris) McDonald, and Mary (Brent) Wagner-Stockman, Rick Zeller, and Betty Heim both of Arizona, Tina (Jason) Leavitt, Angela (Brandon) Ferrall of Alliance, Ohio, and Byron Horsey. There are 15 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. 
  
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2005, his parents Florence (Speiser) and Vern Parks, a brother Warren who died in infancy, his son Alfred in 1975, and his son Roger in 2004.
  
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the funeral home, with  Rev. Mike Hasselbring officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
