Evelyn Mae Batt, 86, of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio.  
  
She was born on February 9, 1930 to Richard C. and Doris E. (Figley) Partee in Evansport, Ohio. On September 5, 1948 she married William Joseph Batt, who preceded her in death on September 19, 1984.

Evelyn was a 1947 graduate of Stryker High School. With her husband, she owned the Westwood Bar, and Batt Trucking Company. She also worked for Rath Builders from 1973 to 1991. She enjoyed working in her garden and was always planting flowers. Evelyn loved to collect antiques, and go antiquing with her sister Karen. Evelyn was a hard worker with an amazing work ethic. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 
  
Evelyn is survived by her sons, William T. (Tina) Batt of Herndon, Virginia, Kim F. (Anna Marie) Batt of Defiance, Jeff J. Batt of Defiance, Michael A. (Elaine) Batt of Millersburg, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister, Karen S. Buntain of Evansport, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Batt, sons David Batt, and John D. Batt, and brothers Richard J. Partee and Gary L. Partee.
  
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. Burial will follow at Evansport Cemetery.
