Esther R. Bland, 92 , of Melrose, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at The Country Inn Enhanced Living Center in Paulding, Ohio.  
  
She was born on January 28, 1925 to Frank and Blanche (Wilson) Guyton in Paulding County. On October 1, 1948 she married Arnold C. Bland, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2008. 
  
Esther was a member of Defiance Christian Church. She was a 1943 graduate of Auglaize-Brown Local School in Oakwood, Ohio. 
  
Esther will be sadly missed by her son, Joey (Kathy) Bland, daughter, Cathy (David) Scheirer, all of Melrose, Ohio, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Helen Shong, and Barbara (Larry) Guilliam-Procunier, all of Defiance, Shirley Reneau of Findlay, and Marsha Gorman of Kentucky. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband , Arnold C. Bland, stepfather, William Gordon, stepmother, Kathryn Guyton, brothers, Robert Guyton and Carl Guyton, and sister, Ilean McClain.
  
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Riverside Cemetery, with Rev. Stan Harmon officiating.
