Doris was a dear friend and part of our lives for 3 generations of our Family. She was a friend of my Grandma Weible and her daughter (my mother), Donna Willrich (now 82). I've know Doris my entire life. In the 1950-60's Doris would come with our Aunt and visit us when we lived in Colorado. Doris taught my oldest sister, Juanita how to sew. We would visit her when we traveled to Ohio on holiday break. Later, we moved to Michigan. As the years went by sharing old stories and new stories,. Garden tips, and every-day life events. These past few years my mother could no longer travel but the two of them continued to write each other every few weeks. Doris will be greatly missed.

My dear friend and faithful pen pal - you will be missed! I'm so blessed to have become your friend and pen pal in these last five years. Neil, Alicia, Matias and I were lucky to spend time with you and hear about your life's adventures. You were a good and faithful friend to my grandma and my beloved mother before they died, there to visit when I was far away. I'm so glad I could occasionally do the same for you. You were an extraordinary woman who defied many of the norms of your time - though you tried to study math at Defiance College you were channelled to home economics and you did that incredibly well but eventually you returned to your passion and received your masters and taught math! You traveled the country solo - visited every state in the union sometimes with company and sometimes on your own. You had a marvelous, adventurous spirit. I love you and I'm so glad you are now peacefully in heaven eating anything you desire! Love always, Carmen

We both taught with Doris and our children were students of hers. She was an outstanding
teacher and a valuable asset for the Ottoville School and community. We kept in touch for many years. May she rest in peace
