Dolores J. Jones, 85, of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.  
  
She was born on February 17, 1931 to Floyd and Madeline (Kellar) Anderson in Charleston, West Virginia. On December 24, 1950 she married Rubert L. Jones, who preceded her in death on  June 6, 2006. Dolores was a Girl Scout leader and a Sunday School teacher. She loved crocheting and baking, and was known for her delicious sugar cookies at Christmas.
  
Dolores is survived by her daughter Vickie Lea (David) Wardlow of Columbus, Ohio, son Jeffrey (Sylvia) Jones of Holgate, daughter Karen (Tim) Carroll of Defiance, son-in-law John Pixler of Petersburg, Michigan, sister Sandy McKinney of Defiance, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Rubert Jones, daughter Linda Sue Pixler, sister Bernice Hale, and brother Bernard in infancy.
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the funeral home, with Pastor Joe Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.
