Dennis G. "Skip" Mast, 77, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his home in Defiance.   
  
He was born on July 18, 1940 to Gerald and Susan (Kern) Mast in Paulding County. On August 19, 1977 he married Helen (Trevino) Mast, who resides in Defiance.  He was a member of Defiance Eagles Post #372. Dennis worked as a Machine Chief at Johns Manville for 42 years, retiring in  2005.  He was a very hard worker, and he loved the outdoors.   
 
Dennis will be greatly missed by his loving spouse of  40 years, Helen Mast of Defiance, sons, Dennis (Rhonda) Mast of Defiance, and Chris Avina of Columbus, Ohio, daughters, Fran  (David) Witter, and  Melissa (David) Tillson, all of Defiance, 4 grandchildren, brothers, Rudy (Carol) Mast of Sherwood, Gary Mast of Cecil,  Marvin (Vikkie) Mast of Archbold, and Dave Mast of Defiance, sisters, Rose Cantrell of Continental, and Rita (Lamar) Leininger of Ayersville, and his dog, Benny.  
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cheryl Ann Mast, son, Derek Mast, brothers, Don, Richard, Francis, and Ray Mast, and sisters, Betty Delarber and Dixie Corwin.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00, and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral  Home. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
