Dealie "Jackie" Miller, 84, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
 
She was born on October 26, 1931 to Henry and Esther (Johnson) Martin in Henry, Virginia. On December 21, 1956 she married Harold Miller, who preceded her in death on June 7, 1990.

Jackie was a member of  St. John United Church of Christ in Defiance. She owned and operated Miller's Hamburger Shop in Defiance with her husband for many years. She also worked and retired from Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon. She was an Auxiliary Member of Eagles, Elks, and Moose in Defiance. Jackie just loved life, and was always "Happy Go Lucky". She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
 
Jackie will be sadly missed by her family; daughters, Deborah Aden, and Judy Thrasher, both of Defiance, stepsons, David Miller of Burnsville, North Carolina, Donald (June) Miller of Defiance, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters, Patricia (Edward) Booth of Henry, Virginia, Judy Jamison of Collinsville, Virginia, and Lucille Cruise of Roanoke, Virginia, and her close companion, Darrell Thrasher of Defiance.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert and Leonard Martin, and sister, Mary Whitlow.
 
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will  follow at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the funeral home, with  Rev. Jim Brehler officiating. A Private Burial Service will be held at Riverview Memory Gardens.
