Daniel Lee Schlosser, 70, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 6:38 am at Flower Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
Daniel was born on September 29, 1947 to Harold E. and Mary E. (Swisher) Schlosser in Defiance, Ohio. He graduated from Ayersville High School, class of 1965. He was employed at Johns Manville and Dinner Bell before he joined the work force at General Motors, retiring in 2004. Dan spent 13 years as a committeeman for the Local UAW #211, representing his fellow employees. After that, he became the Program Administrator for Quality Network Suggestion Plan. During his five years in this position, he was inducted into the Suggestion System Hall of Fame in 2003. He was an honored volunteer at the Seventh Annual Lights of Defiance County. Upon retirement, Dan produced three shows for the local DCTV television station and covered many special events like the Art in the Park, Heroes Appreciation Day, and the GM Northtowne Mall Car Show. He also ran his own video business, "Unique Video", capturing many local events and weddings in this area. Dan's passion in life was his love for music. He was a member of several local bands in this area, "Easy Living, Easy, Oak ParkMine, and Matchbox".
On May 7, 1966 he married Wanda (Bragg) Schlosser at the Continental Free Methodist Church. She resides in Defiance. Dan will be missed by his daughter, Michelle (Randy) Luderman of Cecil, his son, Michael (Sheryl) Schlosser of Sandusky, his four grandchildren; Jacob and Courtney Luderman, and Tyler and Taylor Schlosser. He also leaves behind his sister, Karen (Joseph) Garza of Cecil, his brother, Alan (Teresa) Schlosser of Jewell, his cousin and "little brother", Gregory (Mary Jo) Swisher of Temperance, Michigan, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Schlosser, grandparents Troy and Eva Swisher, brother William Schlosser, sister Janet Kaiser, and a grandchild, Joshua Luderman.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 19th at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Leonard officiating. Burial will follow the service at Myers Cemetery.
