Daniel J. Delarber, Jr., 59, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 22, 2018 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on November 7, 1958 to Daniel and Betty (Mast) Delarber in Defiance. On September 28, 2013 he married Jody (Reimond) Delarber, who resides in Defiance.
Dan was an active member of St. John Catholic Church, and he loved singing in the church choir. Farming was his true passion in life. Dan also enjoyed hunting, going out to eat at KFC with his wife, munching on Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and spending time with his family. Dan will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Jody Delarber of Defiance, daughters, Amy (Mark) Michael, Brenda (Eric) Averesch, stepdaughter, Jessica (Mason) Delarber, stepson, Derek Snyder, three granddaughters, Allison, Alysia, and Sophia, sisters, Mary (Gary) Leaders, Judy (David) Sands, Jeanette Steinke, Ruth Delarber, Loretta (John) Mock, and Christina (Thomas) Recker, and brothers, David Delarber and Dennis (Shawn) Delarber.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Sue Delarber.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Vigil Service at 3:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
