Charles Jacob Jennings, 84 , of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his home in Defiance.  
  
He was born on October 18, 1932 to Charles Raymond and Mary (Fillman) Jennings in Defiance. On February 14, 1953 he married Mary K. (Hess) Jennings, who resides in Defiance. 
  
Charles was a member of  St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance. He served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Teamsters, and a life member of VFW Post #3360. He was a truck driver for Glore Trucking Company for several years. Charles loved to golf, and he enjoyed woodworking.
  
Charles is survived by his loving spouse of  64 years, Mary K. Jennings of Defiance, brother, Raymond (Judy) Jennings, sisters, Colleen Keck and Mary Batt, sons, Chris (Mary Jo) Jennings, Thomas Jennings, Jim Jennings, and Ray Jennings, daughters, Margaret (Marc) Trosien and  Beth (Darrel) Holifield, grandchildren:, Eric (Roberta) Jennings, Stephanie Jennings, Kristen Jennings, Shaley Jennings, Justin Jennings, Jerrad Jennings, Jacob Scholl, Matthew Trosien, Marc (Beka) Trosien,  Jason Holifield, Landen Holifield, and Mary Allison  (Randy Bennett) Trosien,  great-grandchildren:, Patrick, Harrison, Julian, Weston, Emmalee and Annalynn. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Charles Jennings.
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens, with graveside military honors accorded by VFW Post #3360. 
  
Memorials are suggested  to Great Lakes Hospice, or Alzheimer's Association.
