Bland Clifford Meade, 80, of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Promedica Defiance Regional Hospital.   
  
He was born on February 20, 1936 to Joseph and Masel (Holbrooks) Meade in Dungannon, Virginia. On July 5, 1955 he married Barbara (Adams) Meade, who preceded him in death on October 19, 2013. Clifford worked for several years at General Motors, retiring in 1989. 
  
Clifford attended Mt. Zion Methodist Church, and was a member of Defiance Moose Lodge #2094, and Defiance UAW #211. He loved country music, and enjoyed hunting, wood-working, and gardening.
  
Clifford will be sadly missed by his daughters, April (Stan) Cook of Defiance, Sandra Linnabary-Meade of Defiance, Lisa (Steve) Bruns of Bloomington, Indiana, and son Quinn (Kristi) Meade of Bryan, 7 grandchildren, sister Phyllis Dua, brother Shannon Meade, and his loving companion, Kathryn Spencer. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Masel and Joseph Meade, and wife, Barbara Meade.
  
Visitation will be held from 2-4, and 6-8 pm on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. Dave Prior officiating. Burial will follow at Myers Cemetery.
