Beverly J. Lime, 88, of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.   
  
She was born on March 18, 1929 to Steve and Lola (McGinnis-Sweigart) Gatza  in Muscatine, Iowa.  Beverly was a member of Ayersville United Methodist Church, and the United Telephone Company Club. On  August 28, 1949  she married Patrick Lime, who preceded her in death on April 10, 2011. Beverly enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and bird watching.

Beverly will be greatly missed by her sons, Greg (Marietta) Lime, Richard "Dick" (Charlene) Lime, and John (Jane) Lime, all of Defiance, and Neil (Stacey Niese) Lime of Ottawa, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren, 5 step great-great-grandchildren , son-in-law, Max Cleaves of Defiance, and sister-in-law, Virginia Sweigart of Attica, Ohio. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Lime, daughter, Judy Cleaves, brothers Bob, Jake, and Johnny, sister Bobbi Cross, and one great-grandson.
  
Friends and family may call from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church, from 10:00 to 11:00 am.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am  on Wednesday, November 22nd at Ayersville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Burial will follow the service at  Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance.
