Betty Jean Rasnake, 74, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her residence.  
  
She was born on June 10, 1941 to Robert and Hazel (Dixon) Brummitt in Mendota, Virginia. On April 2, 1965 she married Atheny Ray Rasnake, who preceded her in death on September 14, 1995.
  
Betty attended the Family Christian Center in Defiance. She enjoyed crocheting and babysitting, especially her grandchildren. She liked to do crossword puzzles, and she loved her family dearly.
  
Betty is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Richard) Leskow, and Amy Rasnake, both of Defiance, grandsons, Justin, Jacob, and Jared Leskow, granddaughters, Brittany Froelich and Olivia Cunningham, great-grandson Cameron Leskow, brother, Bobby (Mary) Brummitt, and sister, Wanda (Harold) Green.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Brummitt, husband, Atheny Rasnake, and brother, Archie Brummitt.
  
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the funeral home, with Rev. Tim Tracy officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.
