Betty A. Hunt, 85, of Continental, Ohio, peacefully passed away on  Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. Rita's Hospice Center in Lima, Ohio. 
  
She was born on July 21, 1932 to Henry and Agnes (Wiseman) Ripke in Defiance. Betty was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Defiance. She retired from working as a cook at the Defiance County Home. She was a member of the Defiance Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at the Hospital Thrift Store. She was a life member of VFW and American Legion Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed baking cakes, volunteering, and she loved spending time with her family.
  
Betty will be missed by her children; Peggy (Edward) Wright of Defiance, Kenneth "Butch" (Tina) Rohlf of Oakwood, Shelly (Keith) Decker of Defiance, Jeffrey Rohlf  (Robert Lang) of Columbus, John (Judy) Rohlf of Defiance, and Thomas (Shada) Rohlf of Defiance, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, siblings; Ronald (Jean) Ripke of Oregon, Lynn (Gerry) Ripke of Liberty Center, Janet Ashbaugh of Florida, Karen (Bob) Jones of Texas, and Barbara (Bill) Gerdeman of Fremont. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband John W. Rohlf, second husband Charles Hunt, siblings; Jerry Ripke,  Joan Kelley, Linda Oehler, and  Jeanie Gerken.
  
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, August 28, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Defiance. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, with Pastor Matthew Schiemann officiating. Burial will follow the service at Independence Cemetery.
