Arthur Cleo  Helf, 74, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, January 8, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.   
  
He was born on November 17, 1943 to Marvin and Beatrice (Marrow) Helf in Adrian, MI. He was a 1962 graduate of Adrian High School. Art proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On October 1, 1965 he married Pamela (Byers) Helf, who preceded him in death on July 11, 2014. 

Art was a member of AMVETS #1991 in Defiance. He worked for over 42 years as an electrician at General Motors, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing bingo. Art loved spending time with his grandkids, and attending their sporting events.
  
Art will be greatly missed by his daughter, Lisa Helf of Adrian, MI, son, Scot Helf of Defiance, and daughter, Stacy (Jay) Hughes of Defiance, and his 5 grandchildren; Justin (Faron) Hughes, Jeremy (Kristan) Hughes, Breanna Hughes, Kavon (Monica) Johnson, and Shayleen Helf, as well as his 5 great-grandchildren, and siblings; Madolyn (William) Spillers of Liberty Center, Lura Bowles of Adrian, MI, and Bruce (Brenda) Helf of Adrian. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Helf, son, Jason Helf, and brothers, Lyle and Carl Helf.
  
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 12th at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Pastor Charlene Liechty officiating.
