ANN MARIE "ANNIE" HERDER, 55, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic.

She was born on July 8, 1957 to Robert and Mary (Leopold) Herder in Defiance, OH.

 

Ann was a member of the Eagles & Moose Auxiliary, Defiance and worked 17 years as a postal clerk at the Bryan Post Office. She had a love for shopping, reading Stephen King novels, and truly enjoyed making family and friends happy especially by sending everyone their own "special' birthday card. She will be missed by her siamese cat, "Samson", and sadly missed by her family and friends. Per her request Anne has made an anatomical donation to the Gift of Sight..

 

Ann is survived by her mother, Mary Herder of Defiance, sisters, Janet (Jack) Dunbar of Holgate, Jean Orta of Defiance, Laura Herder of Defiance, brothers, Allen Herder of Deshler, Patrick (Kim) Herder of Defiance, special partner, Greg "Bru" Brubaker of Defiance, 7 nephews, 5 nieces, 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert C Herder.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be made to Defiance County Hospice or the Cleveland Clinic.
